Wei Zhao, J.D.

Wei Zhao, J.D., is a strategically minded professional blending expertise in law, consulting, and cancer research. An active member of the State Bar of California, Wei holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the College of William & Mary Law School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from UCLA and is expected to graduate from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) program in 2027.

 

Wei’s career spans both the research and transactional sectors. She has two years of experience as a Staff Research Associate at the Donahue Lab at UCLA, focusing on cancer research and research lab management. Complementing this, she has five years of experience in consulting and legal practice, including three years as an Associate Lawyer/Consultant at Beijing Yingke (Fuzhou) Law Firm and management experience at CAS (Fuzhou) Data Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd.

 

Her pursuit of the EMPH is driven by a strong interest in the legal framework and policy surrounding cancer research, clinical trial access and promotion, and global health. Wei is uniquely positioned to address complex public health challenges by leveraging her deep understanding of transactional legal research, regulatory compliance, and scientific operations.

 

How do you spend your free time?
“I am a super avid fan of Korean dramas and Kpop and have been watching/listening for over 15 years now. Much of my free time is dedicated to either consuming them or interacting with other fans.”
