Dr. Sophie Snyder is Head of Market Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), and Value at Kyverna Therapeutics, where she leads evidence strategy, health economic modeling, and reimbursement policy for the company’s CAR-T cell therapy programs in autoimmune neurology. She holds a PhD in Political Economics from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and brings 20 years of experience spanning biopharmaceutical market access, HEOR, health policy analysis, consulting, and private equity.

Her career has centered on the economics of cell and gene therapy, including prior roles at Kite Pharma (a Gilead company), BioMarin Pharmaceutical, and as head of modeling and simulation at a specialty HEOR consultancy, with a focus on how payment policy, provider economics, and geographic access determine whether patients can actually reach one-time, curative-intent therapies. Her published research includes economic evaluations of CAR-T therapy by site of care and studies of travel-related burden and access for patients receiving CAR-T, along with work on formulary dynamics, cost-effectiveness in chronic kidney disease, and health insurance coverage in California.

At UCLA, Dr. Snyder teaches HPM 441, a hands-on course in data analysis, management, and visualization for Executive MPH students. The course is built around a shared, real-world healthcare provider dataset, taking students from spreadsheet fundamentals through data structuring, dashboarding in Tableau, and presenting analytic findings to decision-makers – the same workflow she uses to inform launch strategy in industry.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her kids, getting outdoors, cycling, swimming, running, yoga, and gardening.
