How do you spend your free time?
“In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking, staying active, and I also teach Assyrian language classes.”
Why did you join the EMPH program?
“I joined the EMPH program to deepen my understanding of the intersection between law and public health. My legal work focusing on clients facing housing insecurity, discrimination, and unsafe working conditions showed me how legal systems impact health outcomes. This experience shifted my focus from law as a conflict resolution tool to a means of addressing structural inequities that affect well being. Pursuing an MPH at UCLA allows me to develop the strategic and leadership skills needed to drive systemic change.”
