Alexa Osime brings a strong foundation in clinical sciences and diverse professional experience to her cohort. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences from Boston University in 2020. She is expected to graduate from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Executive MPH program in 2026.

 

Currently, Alexa serves as the Vascular and Podiatry Residency Coordinator for the UCLA Department of Surgery, where she manages the operations of critical graduate medical education programs. This role provides her with invaluable insight into the administrative, logistical, and accreditation demands of complex academic medical training.

 

Her prior experience includes serving as an educator at the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA and completing an internship with the California Perinatal Wellness Alliance. This background in education, clinical settings, and non-profit work informs her passion for advancing healthcare policy and management through the EMPH program, emphasizing her commitment to improving systemic clinical and educational processes.

 

How do you spend your free time?
“I spend my free time going to the beach, taking pottery classes, reading, and traveling.”

 

Why did you join the EMPH program?
“I joined the EMPH program because I wanted to improve my background in public health and advance my education to transition to working in the community health sector.”
