Leah Vriesman, PhD, MHA, MBA

Course: Healthcare Strategy

Dr. Leah Vriesman is a 20-year Adjunct Professor in Health Policy & Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and Professor of Management and Executive Director of Health Administration programs at UC-Denver Business School. She previously was the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in UCLA’s Division of Continuing Education and before that, led the UCLA Executive Master of Public Health for 11 years, creating UCLA’s new online Master of Healthcare Administration program, the first MHA in the UC system of 10 campuses.

Dr. Vriesman teaches Healthcare Strategy and International Health Policy and often speaks on health technology and innovation. Dr. Vriesman consults and specializes in innovative leadership development for provider organizations and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She created and was the Co-Director of the UCLA Center for Healthcare Management.

Dr. Vriesman received her PhD in Medical Sociology from UCLA (2001) and her MHA and MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis (1991).
