Mika Chiang is a public health policy professional with experience spanning healthcare operations, infection prevention, and administrative program coordination across clinical and service settings. Mika earned a degree in Public Health Policy from the University of California, Irvine, and is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English.
Prior to joining the UCLA Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) program, Mika built a strong operational foundation across various healthcare and organizational roles. Their background includes serving as Clinic Scheduler and Medical Assistant in Neurosurgery at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital, an Emergency Department COPE Health Scholar Intern at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange, and Education Coordinator at C2 Education. Through these positions, Mika gained hands-on experience in patient support, scheduling, record auditing, data tracking (including Google Analytics), and supporting infection prevention initiatives in HIPAA-compliant environments.
Mika’s areas of expertise include neurosurgery support operations, emergency department care workflows, and public health policy. Through their EMPH studies, Mika is pursuing interests in hospital administration, clinical research, quality management, population health, and program evaluation, with a focus on building organized, compliant, and equity-focused health systems.
