Scholarship Opportunities
Year 1: EMPH Student Scholarships are available annually based on need and/or merit. Interested applicants should submit their Request for Funding Statement in conjunction with their UCLA application. For priority consideration, we recommend submission by the February 1, 2026 priority deadline. For more information, click here.
Year 1: The Health Policy and Management Alumni Association (HPMAA) Scholarship in the amount of $10,000 is available to one incoming EMPH student who applies by the April 1st application deadline. Please contact the program office for details on how to apply.
Year 1: COPE Health Scholars and Alumni are eligible for a $3,000 scholarship towards the first year of EMPH tuition. Proof of COPE Health Scholar Program participation is required.
Year 1: The Albert W. Dent and Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship: Named for Albert W. Dent, the first African-American Fellow of ACHE, and Foster G. McGaw, the American Hospital Supply Corporation founder, these opportunities are available to students in financial need and open to all eligible applicants. The Albert W. Dent and Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship has a value of $5,000. Every year ACHE awards up to a total of 15 scholarships. Applications for 2026 were accepted between January 2 and March 31, 2026. Year 1: The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of Southern California LIFT Scholarship: ACHE of Southern CA, one of the largest chapters in the nation, created the LIFT Student scholarship program in 2023 to support students with exceptional talent and leadership as they seek a future career in healthcare administration. Academic scholarships are awarded annually, usually at the $5,000 level, based on available funding. Eligible students are those pursuing graduate degrees in healthcare leadership (i.e., MBA, MHA, MPH, MSN, DNP, DrPH, PhD). Visit achesocal.org to learn more.
Year 1 or Year 2: The EMPH UCLA Employee Scholarship is an annual scholarship available to UCLA employees in the amount of $2,500. Please contact the program office for details on how to apply.
Year 1 or 2: The Foster G. McGaw Scholarship provides financial support to graduate students in health administration. Scholarship funds are awarded each year to all AUPHA full graduate programs. The faculty within these programs disperse these monies at their discretion to students most deserving of recognition. Visit aupha.org to learn more.
Year 2: The Levin-Gordon Executive MPH Scholarship provides a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 towards tuition for a promising second year student in the EMPH Program based on academic achievement. Awardees are selected in consultation with program faculty for exceptional work, leadership, and demeanor during their first year in the program.
Year 2: The Lee Thomassen Healthcare Finance Fellowship provides financial support in the amount of $1,000 towards tuition for a promising second year student in the EMPH Program based on academic achievement in their first year, showing exceptional promise in accounting and finance. Must be pursuing an MPH degree in the Executive Health Policy Management Program at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Year 2: The Paul Torrens Scholarship is an annual student scholarship award of $5,000 to support in-state tuition and fees for a continuing second year full-time EMPH, MPH or MHA student in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Demonstration of overall academic excellence, good standing, and leadership. Please contact the program office for details on how to apply.

Students can seek financial support from a wide range of public and private sources to help pay for some or all of their tuition and fees. We recommend exploring our database of scholarship resources first.
