Devon Anderson applies a strong foundation to public health utilizing his rigorous experience in military administration. As a graduate of Kent State University (2021) with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, he anticipates graduation from UCLA’s Executive MPH (EMPH) program in Spring 2027.

Devon’s professional expertise was forged during his service in the United States Marine Corps as an Administrative Specialist, where he advanced to the rank of Corporal. In this role, he gained high-level proficiency in administrative and financial operations, as well as military administration and personnel management—skills critical for managing complex healthcare systems. Following his military service, Devon gained civilian experience in sales support and business administration, including accounts payable, financial reporting, and vendor management at Diamond Sports.

He is focused on bridging his operational background with advanced public health knowledge. After completing his first year in UCLA’s EMPH program, his interests have expanded to include healthcare management, workforce development and retention, and organizational strategy. Devon is committed to leveraging his discipline, organizational skills, and foundational knowledge to drive strategic and equitable improvements in health service delivery.

How do you spend your free time?
“I like to explore California with my two boys and wife.”

Why did you join the EMPH program?
“I want to develop the skills to improve healthcare delivery to individuals and communities that suffer from adverse social determinants of health to achieve better health outcomes.”
