Miguel Ramirez
Community Specialist, L.A. Care Health Plan
Miguel Ramirez brings a powerful combination of community advocacy, education, and health plan operations to the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) program with an emphasis in Health Policy and Management.
Miguel is currently a Community Specialist at L.A. Care Health Plan, where he has been serving since 2023. This role allows him to directly apply his expertise in health education and community advocacy to advance the mission of one of the nation’s largest public health plans.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature from UCLA, which informs his ability to engage diverse populations. After completing his undergraduate degree at UCLA, Miguel returned for the Executive MPH program to leverage the campus’s extensive resources and pursue further career and personal growth. His academic interests in health policy/data analysis, healthcare reform, and the intersection of climate change with public health demonstrate his commitment to addressing complex, large-scale challenges.
In his free time, Miguel prioritizes fitness and connection, enjoying calisthenic workouts, riding his bike around Los Angeles, and spending time with friends and family.
